Promoting Cognos Content with NetVisn

This video demonstrates how easily and safely you can move Cognos content across your IBM Cognos environments using the NetVisn Promotions feature, including how you can:

  • Eliminate copy of deployment zip files
  • Select objects individually or by location
  • Select objects in personal folders
  • Change locations on target server
  • All changes are previewed prior to execution
  • Ensure proper report execution after move
  • Object dependencies are maintained
  • Only update objects which have changed
  • Save promotion configurations for later use

The process includes dependency checking and report validation to assure that the moved content will function properly. Once a Promotion configuration is saved it can be easily run to capture all the new and modified content that has occurred since the last promotion.
