Promotions takes the risk out of promoting content from one environment to another. You no longer need worry about overwriting data sources, security settings, or other critical parameters with the risk of catastrophic failure. NetVisn Promotions makes the process totally transparent giving you total control every step of the way. It even keeps a log of all promoted objects.
Promotions also provides:
- Granular selection of objects
- Promote entire package and folder hierarchies or individual objects such as reports and models to the target server.
- Total control over your target server
- Promoting objects which already exist on the target server updates them instead of replacing them; reporting objects are validated before being promoted; objects can be promoted to any existing location on the server or a new one you create.
- Model date checking and versioning
- When promoting a reporting object, the model date on the target server is checked to see if the source model needs to be promoted also. Multiple versions of a model can be maintained on the target server, similar to Framework Manager publishing.
- Promotion of personal folders
- Personal content can also be promoted to the target server to personal or
public locations.
- Optionally include object properties
- Objects that do not exist on the target server can optionally transfer properties

- When promoting models which do not exist on the target server, the required data sources, connections, and sign-ons will also be promoted.

- Content can be promoted to/from public and personal folders with equal ease across Content Stores.
